In a major bidding war, Warner Bros. won the rights to the highly coveted action thriller Maude against Maudehero Angelina Jolie (Mr and Mrs Smith, tomb Raider) AND Halle Berry (The monster ball, X-Men franchise). Roseanne Liang (Shadow in the cloud) is on board to direct from Employees producer Scott Mosierthe screenplay. Berry and Jolie will produce alongside Berry’s producing partner Holly Jeter, who will produce through their HalleHolly banner, along with Jeff Kirschenbaum and Joe Roth who will produce through RK Films. Mosier and Liang will also produce.

Exact details are being kept under wraps, but the insider describes it as a “Bond vs. Bourne” type action thriller.
The film marks the first time Jolie and Berry have worked together. Berry is currently filming the Lionsgate film Never let go with her and Jeter executive producing. Alex Aja is directing the film with 21 Laps producing.
As for Jolie, the Oscar winner continues to keep herself busy, especially on the directing front where she recently directed Without Blood with Demian Bichir and Salma Hayek. She was also recently seen in Marvel’s Eternals.
