Insidious: The Red Door it is set ten years after the last film. In the story, “Josh Lambert (Wilson) heads east to drop off son Dalton (Simpkins) at an idyllic ivy-covered college. However, Dalton’s college dream turns into a nightmare when repressed demons from his past suddenly come back to haunt them both.

It is explained: “To silence their demons once and for all, Josh (Patrick Willson) and a college-age Dalton (Ty Simkins) has to go deeper than ever in The Further.”

Wilson also directed the film from a screenplay written by Scott Teems (Halloween kills) and is based on a story by the co-creator of the franchise Leigh Whannell (The invisible man). The film is also the protagonist Ty Simkins returning as Dalton Lambert, con Rosa Byrne also reprising the role of Renai Lambert.

Wilson previously spoke about the film, saying, “I am honored and thrilled to be at the helm of the next chapter of Insidious, which will provide an incredible opportunity to uncover everything the Lamberts went through a decade ago, as well as deal with the aftermath of their choices. Directing the film is both professionally and personally a full-circle moment for me, and I am extremely grateful to be tasked with continuing to tell this scary and haunting story. Go on…”

Insidious: The Red Door will be released in theaters worldwide July 7, 2023. I’m a fan of the films that make up this horror franchise and the next one looks like it’s going to be good! Watch the trailer and tell us what you think!
