Michelle Yeoh’s STAR TREK: SECTION 31 project becomes a film

Michelle Yeoh is officially returning to the Star Trek franchise with a new film produced for Paramount+ titled Star Trek: Section 31. Yeoh will reprise his role in the film as Emperor Philippa Georgiou, which is a character he played in the first season of Star Trek: Discovery.

The project was originally developed as a series but is now headed in a different direction as it has been retooled as a streaming film. I liked Yeoh’s character, so it’s great to see his story continue in a new movie! It would be even better if we could see it on the big screen!

In the film, “Emperor Philippa Georgiou joins a secret division of Starfleet tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets. But he also faces the sins of his past.

The script for Star Trek: Section 31 was written by Craig Sweety, and will be directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi. Production on the film will begin later this year.
