Patrick Willson he’s returning to the franchise and reprising his role as Josh Lambert, but he’s also directing the new movie, which is pretty awesome! This will be his big directorial debut. The film is also the protagonist Ty Simkins returning as Dalton Lambert, with Rose Byrne also reprising her role as Renai Lambert.
Insidious: The Red Door it is set ten years after the last film. In the story, “Josh Lambert (Wilson) heads east to drop off son Dalton (Simpkins) at an idyllic ivy-covered college. However, Dalton’s college dream turns into a nightmare when repressed demons from his past suddenly come back to haunt them both.
The screenplay of the film was written by Scott Teems (Halloween kills) and is based on a story by the co-creator of the franchise Leigh Whannell (The invisible man).
Wilson previously spoke about the film, saying, “I am honored and thrilled to be at the helm of the next chapter of Insidious, which will provide an incredible opportunity to uncover everything the Lamberts went through a decade ago, as well as deal with the aftermath of their choices. Directing the film is both professionally and personally a full-circle moment for me, and I am extremely grateful to be tasked with continuing to tell this scary and haunting story. Go on…”
I’m a fan of this horror franchise and can’t wait to see how the next chapter in the story ends!
