One of the stars of the film, David Dastmalchian, previously praised the film as “one of the scariest movies” he’s seen in a long time. I like the sounds of that! I’m actually really excited about this movie.
In the film, “High school student Sadie Harper and her younger sister Sawyer are devastated by the recent death of their mother and don’t get much support from their father, Will, a therapist who is coping with his own grief. When a desperate patient shows up unexpectedly at their home seeking help, he leaves behind a terrifying supernatural entity that preys on families and feeds on the suffering of its victims.
The film was directed by Rob Wild (Guest) from a script by ScottBeck AND Bryan Woods (A quiet place) AND Marco Heyman (Black Swan). He is the protagonist Sophia Thatcher (Yellow jackets), Chris Messina (Birds of prey), Vivian Lyra Blair (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Marine Ireland (The Umbrella Academy), Madison Hu (Bizarardvark), Lisa Gay Hamilton (Vice), AND David Dastmalchian (Dune).
The film is produced by Shawn Levi (Stranger things), Dan Levi (I arrive), AND DanCohen (The Adam Project). The boogeyman will be released in theaters on June 2, 2023.
