If you watched the trailer for Star Wars: Ahsokathen you saw Ray Stevenson as a badass ex-Jedi warrior named Baylon. He survived Order 66 by fleeing to the Unknown Regions, and is believed to be an ally of Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen). Baylon is also the teacher of Shin Hati, by whom he is played Ivanna Sakhno. Shin wields the dark side of the Force and has a loose alliance with the Nightsisters, who are the Witches of Dathomir who have been explored in Star wars the battle of the clones. She is unleashed to bring Ahsoka down.

These are a very interesting pair of villainous characters and I can’t wait to see how their stories evolve over the course of the season. They are definitely skilled warriors, though, and I love Stevenson’s character and judging by what I’ve seen in the trailer, he seems to fight with super skilled precision.
During an interview with CB, Stevenson opened up about his experience working with series creator Dave Filoni and how great it was for him. The actor recalled:
“And the thing about Dave that most people probably don’t realize is a problem with that overwhelming talent and skill and mastery is his insane ability to collaborate and give you the freedom to bring your ideas on board and, and, and, and you ask the questions and then if it’s good, then it’s great.
And, and that also means from costume ideas to combat to that, certain lines and nothing is set in stone, it creates a, a flowing river and it’s also free enough to see where it’s going, it’s going. And for an actor , it’s just like some, you, imagine going into something that’s just going to be stiff, that’s how it works, that’s what we want, but it’s not like that at all. you’re part of a family that’s been, you’re brought into this amazing family and everyone works together.”
It seems that his time working on the series has been a very positive experience for him. It seems to be what the filmmakers hope to give their actors when they come to work with them. Filoni spoke about working with Jon Favreau on these characters, saying:
“What’s really significant is that these are characters, in many cases, in animation that I’ve created, so I know them very well, but then I also like having Jon’s point of view, because he’s a person who has seen but doesn’t” I don’t know in detail, but he will know what I think is important about the character. When we put that together, I think we have a really good goal to, ‘Yeah, that’s the person,’ and go.”
THE Ahsoka series is set after the fall of the Empire, and “follows former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) while investigating an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.
Ahsoka and Sabine (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) are in search of Grand Admiral Thrawn in the hope that he will lead them to find the lost Ezra Bridger, the young Jedi who disappeared with Thrawn many years ago. The series directly follows on from several threads from the animated series Star Wars Rebels.
It has also been confirmed that Mary Elizabeth Winstead plays Hera Syndulla and the droid, Chopper, is also back. The series is also starring Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, Ivanna Sakhno, Eman Esfandi like EzraAND Ray Stevenson. The limited series is written by Dave Filoni, executive producer along with Jon Favreau AND Kathleen Kennedy.
The series will debut exclusively on Disney+ in August 2023.
