A new Stranger things the animated series has been ordered on Netflix! So far very little is known about the series, but we do know that the show will be set in the already established world of entertainment. It was also announced that the project was developed by Eric Robles and flying bark productions. Robles has created the animated shows before Random! Cartoons, Fanboy & Chum ChumAND Faulty techniques.

Stranger things creators the Duffer Brothers are executive producers of Upside Down Pictures along with Robles, Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen of 21 Laps. Upside Down Pictures and 21 Laps are currently in blanket deals with Netflix.
The Duffer brothers said in a statement:
“We’ve always dreamed of an animation of ‘Stranger Things’ in the vein of the Saturday morning cartoons we grew up loving, and to see that dream come true was absolutely thrilling. We couldn’t be more amazed at what Eric Robles and his team have come up with – the scripts and artwork are amazing and we can’t wait to share more with you! The adventure continues…”
Netflix announced plans for a live-action spinoff series and stage show in July 2022, with the Duffers forming Upside Down Pictures at the time. No details are available on the live-action spinoff, though the Duffers have previously said it won’t focus on characters like Eleven or Steve Harrington. It was revealed in March 2023 that the play would take place in Hawkins in 1959 and make its West End debut in London.
The Duffers are also working on a live-action TV version of the Japanese manga and anime series death Note. I’m also working on a series adaptation of Stephen King AND Peter Straub’s book The Talisman alongside Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment and Paramount Television.
The fifth and final season of the flagship Stranger things the series will arrive on Netflix in 2024. Are you looking forward to the animated series?
