Several years ago, it was revealed that the president of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige was developing a Star Wars project for Lucasfilm. We recently learned that the project had been scrapped, but now during an interview with IGN, the president of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy he said the project was never official.

Kennedy said he barely had a conversation with Feige about a movie. When asked what was going on with many of the announced Star Wars projects that don’t appear to have any movement, she said:
“Well, those things haven’t been shelved. They haven’t been shelved. Development is a long-term, complicated process. Some people, we deal with coding. Because, obviously, there are really talented people working there. not a shelf. It’s more like, ‘Is this ready?’ This is really what it boils down to… Kevin Feige’s project has been announced in the press, or I guess, fandom. But, nothing has ever been developed. We have never discussed an idea. Everyone knows that Kevin is a great Star Wars fans. If he did come up with anything, I’d be all ears. But it never really happened, so it’s not an abandoned project. It just never really happened.”
It’s interesting that he said that, because a couple of years ago it was reported that Lucasfilm took over Michael Waldron to write Feige’s screenplay Star Wars movie. He previously worked at Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and also served as head writer and executive producer on the series Loki.
I have to point out that all of this news about Feige has come from the CEO of Disney Bob Igerand co-chairs of the firm Alan Hornthus it was not heralded by the “fandom” “press” as Kennedy claims.
Horn explained that Kennedy “is pursuing a new era Star Wars storytelling and knowing that Kevin is a die-hard fan, it made sense for these two amazing producers to work on a Star Wars film together”. It was also reported at the time that Feige pitched his idea to Kennedy, Iger and Horn.
Feige had even “told a major actor that there is a specific role he would like that person to play if and when he does the movie.”
So, I don’t know what’s going on here. Regardless of the two different stories, Feige’s project does not move forward.
