EXCLUSIVE: Sony’s second trailer for Spider-Man: Via the Spider-Verse set an audience record, learned on Deadline, and not only came in as the best viewer spider verse Franchise trailer, plus the second most-watched trailer for a recent Marvel movie in 24 hours and the most-watched superhero movie trailer of the summer.
The new trailer has garnered 148.6 million views since its release yesterday, beating the trailer numbers for upcoming superhero tentpoles Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (116.9 million) and The Lightning (81.6 million) in the first 24 hours.
Current Marvel films lag behind About the Spider-Verse in terms of calls for a second trailer, among other things Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness (121.6 million), Thor: Love and Thunder (98.1 million), Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (84.8 million) and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (83.8 million).

When the heroes disagree on how to deal with a new threat, Miles must take on the other Spiders and redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves.
Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson directed the Marvel Comics-based film from a screenplay by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller and David Callaham. Others voicing the sequel include Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Karan Soni, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham and Oscar Isaac.
