Warner Bros. Studios is celebrating its 100th anniversary by opening up its top-secret archives – at least to the media – to showcase its incredible collections of film props, costumes, vehicles and documents.
The studio began cataloging and preserving props in the 1990s and continues to add select items from the films and television series that Warner Bros. produced. manufacture. The archivists create a wish list of items they want to keep from the film and prioritize items that are recognizable or iconic. This includes the recent additions of 3 versions of the Jokermobil The Suicide Squad.
The camp also contains memorabilia from The Matrix, superman And Batman movies. Ten Batmobiles, along with masks and costumes worn by the actors who played Batman, are sealed in a high security room called The Batcave. There is also a superhero room with all the costumes of the DC characters.
Boxes of scripts are carefully arranged and stacked to the ceiling, including the original Looney tunes animated drawings and a specially designed, temperature-controlled room filled with Tim Burton’s puppetry corpse bride And gremlins
Warner Bros. was founded on April 4, 1923 by Albert, Sam, Harry and Jack Warner. Today, the studio is home to one of the most successful brand collections in the world and is a leader in all aspects of the entertainment industry. from television to feature films such as Casablanca; The jazz singer; What Happened to Baby Jane?; The Maltese Falcon; End station required; the glow; The Goonies; eyes wide shut and much more.
The costumes stored in the warehouse are kept intact for continuity, should they ever be needed again for a film, and are cared for by the dedicated team of archivists who watch over the iconic relics. The Joker’s purple trench coat and pants still have the dirt detail embedded in the fabric. James Dean’s jeans and jacket can be seen with a 29 inch waist rebel without a purpose next to Natalie Woods’ red dress from the film. Both are in perfect condition.
Chests of artifacts reach to the ceiling, each labeled with the movie name and who carried a particular item. The collection is large and includes precious trinkets Interview with the Vampire, V for Vendetta And clothes off my beautiful lady and much more.
