5 Movies & TV Shows That Need Video Game Adaptations

It is common knowledge that there have been great and terrible video games based on popular movies. It’s usually easy to see which ones are just money grabbing and which ones were made by companies that really cared about making a good game. Here’s a list of other movies and TV shows that are in dire need of some good video game adaptations.

This is just a little fun for April Fool’s Day:

5 Resident Evil (2002)

This movie, while not well reviewed, is a perfect candidate for an entire game franchise. The premise is great for a movie about zombies, an evil corporation that has managed to hide its super-inaccurate and clearly nefarious experiments under a veneer of helping people. This could lead to a rich video game series in which we will explore various aspects of the impact of the fallout from this outbreak. And we have many other films in the series that we can borrow other characters from. He would definitely play a survival horror game based on this movie.

4 Detective Pikachu

Who doesn’t want to have a cuddly companion like Pikachu? This movie was populated with tons of really funny Pokémon, although there were definitely some creepy ones that perhaps shouldn’t have turned into a game adaptation (looking at you, Mime). I think a game where you have to solve mysteries with a cute Pikachu would be a home run. Also, it would be so much fun to play in this world in general, collect Pokémon friends and have fun adventures with them.

3 Sonic the hedgehog 2

See how funny these characters are. I’m going with the sequel here because the introduction of Tails and Knuckles in the movies really solidifies how good of a game it could be. Being able to run as fast as Sonic through the levels sounds like a lot of fun, but I think the other characters would add some fun variety to the game. While Robotnik is a super fun villain, I’d be really interested in a game that gave us more details on the Shadow character that was revealed at the end of the movie.

2 The Last of Us

This show was phenomenal. Heartbreaking and terrifying, this truly has everything you could want in a zombie show. I debated between this and The Walking Dead for a long time, but decided this would provide a more concise story. Also, let’s be honest, mushroom zombies are much more dynamic and scary. But being able to fill the shoes of Joel and Ellie making their way through hell could put a really cool twist on the tired old “escort this useless character from point a to point b” mission we see in video games.

1 The Super Mario Bros. Movie

I know what you will say, this movie is not out yet, how do you know if it will be good as a game? I get you, but from the trailers it seems like there are so many different kinds of games that could be made based on these characters. There are loads of different characters that could bring their own games and having seen kart racing in the trailers you just know it would be incredibly fun. These characters are all so bright and funny looking, I’m confident you could make any number of games based on them. And Chris Pratt could definitely become an iconic entry in any household as the main character Mario.

Happy April Fools everyone. Share this article with your friends and watch their heads explode for your prank.
