Marvel actor Jonathan Majors has been taken into police custody and charged with assault in a New York City apartment. Despite the allegations against him, Majors’ criminal defense attorney Priya Chaudhry released a statement refuting the claims and stating that the actor is “completely innocent and probably the victim”.

Chaudhry explained that the actor called 911 out of concern for his girlfriend’s mental health and that her arrest was part of NYPD protocol that required arrest under certain circumstances.

Furthermore, the lawyer shared text messages he received from Jonathan Majors’ girlfriendin which he admitted to using physical force against him during an argument that arose when the actor tried to grab his phone.

Mr. Majors completely denies assaulting the woman. At approximately 11am on March 25, 2023, Jonathan Majors called 911 out of concern for the woman’s mental health,” the statement read.

Magazine Variety reportedly accessing chats posted by actor Jonathan Majors’ attorney, in which the woman accusing him of assault allegedly claimed:

I told them it was my fault for trying to grab your phone. I reiterated that it was not an attack.” This statement would have been made directly to the actor by the alleged victim.

These text messages were shared by Majors’ defense as part of their argument that the actor is innocent of the assault charges. The defense said the arrest of Majors was part of protocol from the NYPD and that his client called 911 out of concern for his girlfriend’s mental health.
