Emilia Clarke’s character in ‘Secret Invasion’ would tie into a UCM movie

“Secret Invasion” is the new Marvel Studios series that will premiere on Disney+ this year and will be the premiere in 2023. The plot revolves around a faction of extremist skulls who has been infiltrating the Earth for years with the aim of invading it. No one is without suspicion, from high-ranking political officials to people we thought we knew, has finally been revealed what will be the character of Emilia Clarkeexclusively for Vanity Fair.

Emilia Clarke, the actress recognized for her role as Daenerys Targaryen in ‘game of Thrones‘, will play a skrull named G’iah in ‘Secret Invasion’, the next Marvel Studios series. G’iah is part of the extremist faction that seeks to invade Earth and for her the invasion is not only a political issue, but also a personal one. She has a score to settle with Talos, Nick Fury’s ally (Samuel L. Jackson) and, above all, her father.

Although this is Clarke’s first appearance in Marvel cinematic universe, we saw G’iah in “Captain Marvel” when she was a skrull girl. The actress confirms that the reason for the invasion is her broken promise to provide a home for her kind:

“These people promised many things a long time ago. It is understandable that it has created some resentment. There are many emotions within her and there are many conflicting aspects to her character that arise from the circumstances. Understand why she has the feelings she does“.

When will ‘Secret Invasion’ debut on Disney Plus?

In the movie ‘Captain Marvel’, the Skrulls were presented as an allied race that had lost their home and Nick Fury vowed to find one. But, more than 25 years later, that promise hasn’t been kept, and a faction of Skrulls has decided to take action. According to new details in the series, this is why they decided to take action.

The Series Marvel Studios’ “Secret Invasion” on Disney+ tells the story of an extremist faction of Skrulls who have infiltrated Earth with the aim of invading it. This alien race appeared in “Captain Marvel” where they were introduced as an allied race that had lost its home.

In the series, it is revealed that the Skrulls have been working for S.H.I.E.L.D. for years without receiving anything in return and want a home and to live as they are.

Additionally, new signings have been announced in addition to Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman (The Crown) and Kingsley Ben-Adir (One Night in Miami) for the series. Vanity Fair has revealed each actor’s role and a brief description of it and the wave of details begins to roll in ahead of the June 21, 2023 premiere.
