Our first look at the CLONE HIGH update coming to HBO Max

Clone High was a cult classic adult animated series from Bill Lorenzo, Phil LordAND Christopher Miller. It aired on MTV in 2002-2003 and was a pretty funny show. Now, the show is being “refreshed,” and HBO Max has released some early images to whet your appetite. The animation looks cleaner and even brighter than the original. Not sure how I feel about it. In case you’re unfamiliar with the show, it takes place in a high school attended by clones of historical figures such as Abraham Lincoln AND Giovanna D’Arco. It’s a secret military experiment and if you remember the media from the early 2000s, you know exactly the tone of this show.

This modern update from Phil Lord (“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” “The Afterparty,” and “21 Jump Street”), Chris Miller and Bill Lawrence (“Ted Lasso,” “Cougar Town,” The Series hit “Scrubs”) CLONE HIGH is set in a high school for clones of historical figures. thawed 20 years later to resume experimenting with new clone classmates, all while navigating a new set of cultural norms and overly dramatic teenage relationships.

Leading the cast of Clone High they are returning members Will Forte like Abe, Nicholas Sullivan as Joan, Lord as Scudworth, Miller as JFK and Mr. B, Christa Miller as new character Candide Sampson, Donald Faison such as Washington Carver, e Judas Miller like Scangrade. They will be joined by a host of new voice actors including Ayo Edebiri like Harriet; Mitra Johari like Cleo; Vicci Martinez like Frida; Kelvin Yu like Confucius; Neil Casey as Topher Bus; Jana Schmieding as Sacagawea; Sam Richardson like Wesley; Mo Gaffney as Mrs. Grumbles; At the Madrigal like Frederick; Danny Pudi as Dr. Neelankavil; Emily Maya Mills as Ethel Merman; Michele Bolton as Michael Bolton, Mandy Moore as Mandy Moore, Ian Ziering as Ian Ziering; Steve Kerr as Steve Kerr; AND Jeffrey Muller, Kyle Lau, Danna PhirmanAND Daniel Schneider.

Personally, I love that Bolton and Ziering not only act, but speak to each other. Apparently, the military considered these two, Moore and Kerr, notable historical figures worthy of cloning. You will be able to watch Clone High this spring on HBO Max, assuming it doesn’t get deleted at the last minute. You can watch the original series if you have a cable subscription through the MTV website or on Paramount+.
