‘Knights of the Zodiac’, also known as ‘Saint Seiya’ in Japan, is a manga and anime series created by Masami Kurumada. The story follows a group of young warriors called the Knights, who are tasked with protecting the goddess Athena and fighting against the forces of evil that threaten peace on Earth. Her protection symbol is one of the details that attracts the most attention, but not everyone knows it What are the armors called and what are they made of?.

Each Knight of the Zodiac wears a celestial armor based on a zodiac constellation, and has unique skills and techniques that allow him to fight increasingly powerful enemies. The story takes place in a variety of settings, from ancient sanctuaries in Greece to alternate and futuristic worlds, where this is indispensable for their battles.

The armor of the Knights of the Zodiac is called Cloth, which is Spanish for cloth or cloth. Each knight has one that protects him and represents his zodiac constellation. For example, Pegasus represents the constellation Pegasus, Drago represents the constellation Draco, and so on.

Armor, by default, takes the shape of the constellation, object, animal, or mythological being it represents when at rest. This form is officially known as objects. Due to the fact that armors in their Item form are alive and have a certain level of consciousness, they can be fully or partially assembled on the warrior they protect or placed in front of him to protect him from any threat.

Also, in the case of Steel clothstransform into usable vehicles from Saints of steel as a means of transportation. It should be noted that not all armor has the Item shape. For the most part, these armors are not affiliated with a god’s army.

What are armors for and what are their components?

In the Knights of the Zodiac universe, armor is much more than just physical protection. From the start of the series, it’s clear that armor, at least armor, isn’t made from the base metals found on Earth. Later in the manga, it is revealed that they are made of orichalcum and gammanium, and that stardust is what aids their regeneration.

The cloths also contain the metal that designates their rank, giving them unique properties such as their freezing point. The amount of these materials used to craft or repair armor determines its strength. When Gold Saint Mu repairs the bronze ones, he makes them more resistant, proving that armors can receive new life when they receive blood.

It is mentioned in the Hypermyth that the scales are made entirely of orichalcum, possibly making them more brittle than cloth. As for the Surplices, they are said to be made with precious stones from the underworld. Instead the Adamas of the Giants in Gigantomachy are made of a stronger metal than Orichalcum, although it is not specified what it is.

Even if it’s unknownWhat is the rest of the armor made of? presented in the series, it is understood that they are composed of some of the metals already mentioned.

Armor in Knights of the Zodiac not only has exceptional strength, but also possesses atypical properties that go beyond what is expected of base metals.

In the spin-off Saint Seiya Ω, the armors of the Clothstones versions were made of flexible metal, as revealed by the series’ production team. This feature can be seen on the neck and limbs of the armor, allowing for greater mobility and flexibility during battles.

With the theatrical release of the live action ‘Knights of the Zodiac’ inspired by the original 1980s series, there may be significant variations that remain to be seen.
