James Gunn’S Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is billed as “one last ride” for the fan-favorite team of misfit heroes. This third film in the Guardians trilogy will wrap up the story Gunn originally set out to tell and it looks like it will be quite an emotional cinematic experience as fans say goodbye to some of these characters.

During a recent interview with Chris Pratt, spoke about his emotional farewell to the franchise saying, “It was really emotional for so many reasons that it would take too long in this interview to go into. But he was just thrilling. It was a huge gratitude that James Gunn actually directed it and was able to do it. I’m just grateful that he even gave me the job to begin with.

Pratt continued, “It’s been an incredible ten years, so to wrap it up like that, it’s kind of like your last day of school when you’re in your senior year. You’re so excited that it’s over, but at the same time you don’t know if you’ll ever see any of your friends again. Some of them will go to college, some will drop out, and some will go into the military. It’s like entering a new phase and a new chapter in your life. It’s the turning of the page.”

While I’m excited about the film, it will be sad to see this story come to an end. These are some of my favorite characters in the MCU and it will be hard to say goodbye.

Dave Bautista he previously spoke about his character Drax and explained that his story ends in a perfect way, saying, “We had all those perfect character arcs and such a storybook ending. ended my wrestling career. I ended it on a storybook note. And I would never go back and tarnish it. And it’s the same with this one. With Drax, I just have to finish it perfect. And I would never sign up to another job like Drax just to get a paycheck I’d ruin it [perfect ending]and I won’t.”

Zoe Saldana he previously shared his thoughts on the closing of the franchise saying it was a sweet departure, saying, “[Filming] it started out bitter in the beginning because you’re obviously anticipating the end, but I’m so happy that once again I got to work with amazing people. I’ve had an evolution that I’ve seen of myself, but also of my director and my cast. I felt very blessed and grateful. It was a very sweet start, I must say.

Speaking of the film as a whole, Gunn said it is “bigger in every way” and that it is “completely different” from anything that has come before. He said:

“This is a much bigger movie than the other two movies, and it’s a lot more emotional than the other two movies. And it’s a much longer movie than the other two movies – it’s bigger in every way.” he said of filming Vol. 3, “It was really comfortable, actually… I know the actors really well, so I know what they have to do.”

“They’ve gotten better at their job, so I don’t have to beat them so much. In many ways, it’s been really easy — it’s really natural for me. I get that. But I’m also very pushing myself and trying to create something completely different from what I came first, but which also honors what came before.”

Karen Gillanwho plays Nebula, added: ‘It definitely feels like the most epic. It’s complex and the characters have to deal with it. It’s very emotional for all of them. so there’s a lot of emotion.”

It looks like this is going to be a special movie and it will take fans on quite a journey.

At Marvel Studios Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 “Our beloved band of misfits look a little different these days. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe and protect one of their own. A mission that, if not successfully completed, could lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit theaters May 5.
