Xavier Lopez, better known as Chabelo, died today at the age of 88 in Mexico; The news was confirmed by his family via social media and revives the memes that flooded social media every time a celebrity younger than the family’s famous TV personality left this world.
The news of Chabelo’s death shocked his followers and the artistic community. For more than six decades it has become a point of reference for Mexican television with his program “En Familia con Chabelo”which has been on the air for more than 48 uninterrupted years, although it was what gave him the fame he enjoyed in life and, above all, with which many generations associated him.
It `s important to note that the actor and driver, had faced various health problems in the last few years. Despite having overcome cancer in May 2022, the child driver was dealing with other conditions that affected his quality of life and ended up worsening his physical condition until the news received on March 25, 2023 of his death.
In the past he was linked to possible dementia problems, although he himself has taken the trouble to deny these rumors. In addition to his work in television, he has also excelled in cinema, participating in more than 30 films and receiving various awards throughout his career.
The news of his death was confirmed by his familywho released a statement thanking their fans for their expressions of love and support.
This is a very sad morning, Xavier Lopez Chabelo, father, brother and husband, left us suddenly, due to abdominal complications,” reads the tweet on the account of the late actor and pilot.

The legacy of Chabello is undeniable, he has left his mark on several generations with his unique style and charisma. Her show has been a must for many Mexican families for decades and her legacy will live on in the hearts of her followers.
