“I’m sure Stephen King would recognize that his voice was shaped by Stoker in a way. As I’m sure she was a huge influence on him as a young man, an early reader and writer. Both of these films are so different the from each other and they are both amazing.
“The Boogeyman is… I got to see it… it’s one of the scariest movies I’ve seen in a long time. The performances are amazing. And then Last Voyage of the Demeter, I haven’t seen the movie yet, but what I’ve seen ADR do was incredible. It’s an amazing story. I’m so glad I got to be a part of it.”
It looks like Dastmalchian has been involved in some great horror movie projects and I can’t wait to watch both!
In The boogeyman, “High school student Sadie Harper and her younger sister Sawyer are devastated by the recent death of their mother and don’t get much support from their father, Will, a therapist who is dealing with his own grief. When a desperate patient shows up unexpectedly at their home seeking help, he leaves behind a terrifying supernatural entity that preys on families and feeds on the suffering of its victims.
In The last voyage of the Demetra, “Based on a single chapter, The Captain’s Diary, from Bram Stoker’s classic 1897 novel Dracula, the story is set aboard the Russian schooner Demeter, chartered to carry a private cargo – twenty-four unmarked wooden crates – from Carpathia in London. The film will detail the strange events that befell the doomed crew as they attempted to survive the ocean voyage, pursued each night by a terrifying presence aboard the vessel. When she finally got close to Whitby Harbour, she was a wreck. There was no trace of the crew.
