Oscar winner Adam McKay has hired Rob Pattinson, Amy Adams, Robert Downey Jr., Forest Whitaker and Danielle Deadwyler from Till to direct the cast of his next directorial vehicle. Titled average height, average build, The script and package are available to studios and streamers and are expected to go into production in late summer or early fall.
Just like the series made by McKay successor and his films Don’t look up And The big short tell entertaining stories that reflect what’s going on in the world, Average height, average build sounds like a pretty brilliant marriage of dark comedy with the corruption that runs rampant in politics.
Pattinson plays a serial killer who hires a lobbyist (Adams) to change laws that will make it easier for him to get away with murder. Downey Jr. ‘s role is that of a retired cop who won’t give up the murders, and the killer tries to stop him from chasing him after he hangs up his gun. The serial killer turns himself into a reputation, a Mr. Smith goes to Washington figure that hides his true motives.
McKay and Kevin Messick of Hyperobject Industries produced. The script was bought without a budget and with this large cast it would soon be shelved. McKay has been talking about making a dirty money movie since his promotion Don’t look upwhich sheds light on global warming without making the audience feel like they’re getting spinach.
The film marks a reunion for McKay and Adams, who worked together on the Oscar-nominated political satire Shame. As for Pattinson, The dough weighed options after recently wrapping production on the highly anticipated sci-fi thriller Mickey 17directed by Bong Joon Ho.
