Get ready for more MTG Planeswalker fun this summer

This summer, BOOM! Studios is bringing more Magic: the gathering stories to fans. Magical Planeswalkers: Nobles is a new 40-page one-shot comic that follows a combination of planeswalkers Karn, Ral Zarek, Vraska, and Jace. The new story comes from the writing team of Stephanie Williams (Nubia: Queen of the Amazons), Daniel WarrenAND Dave Raposa (Steve Lichmann); artists Alberto Localtelli (Where spaceships go to die) AND Lea Caballero (The approach); and colorists Ariadne Consonni (Magic) AND Raúl Angulo (Come on come on Power rangers).

Planeswalkers Karn and Ral Zarek team up to navigate the lonely and often treacherous space between flesh and machine.

Meanwhile, a romantic outing between Vraska and fan-favorite Jace? Circumstances are a little less than ideal for the fledgling couple…

Who doesn’t love a good adventure with a little romance at the heart of the story? I know, and it was an honor to write a story for two characters who somehow managed to find each other in a world filled with magic, chaos, and malevolent monsters.

Warren added:

As a kid, I collected Magic cards and poured artwork upon them for hours, drawing and imagining the lands their creatures and characters came from. It was a surreal feeling to relive the same experience with BOOM! and tell a new story in such a unique world.

As a Magic: The Gathering artist, I’ve always longed for the opportunity to further explore the worlds behind the paintings. Having the opportunity to contribute some of my sensibilities to the world of Ravnica has been great.
