Last night, Netflix released the first trailer for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Forever. This is the special 30th anniversary celebration Power Rangers and fans are dying for a trailer. There are still a ton of questions, but there are a lot of them here. It turns out that Rita kills, that’s right, they use the word kill, Trini and so Rita’s big plan is to go back to the past to kill Rangers before they become Rangers. This seems to be what leads to calling in other Rangers for support.

Since Alpha is using whatever base computer he currently has, we see some interesting names as well. The Bandora Protocol is a reference to RIta’s palace which was called Bandora’s Palace because that was its name Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger. Coral Harbour, the home of Grid Battleforce and the Beast Morphers team; Reefside, the home of the Dino Thunder Rangers; Turtle Cove, home of the Wild Force Rangers; and Astro Megaship, from Power Rangers In Space, can all be seen. It would be really cool if we had some sort of representation of the Rangers from each of those seasons able to make a cameo as well, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.
There are still a fair number of questions I still have Once and always Although. Why is Rita evil and a robot? She talks about having a new body, but at the end of In Space, she was cleansed of her evil and she still had a body. How does Zack still have powers? I know we’ve seen Adam come back and stuff like that, but Zack had to use the Sword of Light to transfer his powers to Adam. Will there be an explanation as to why only four Rangers appear to be called for the job? It seems like Adam and Aisha are playing a more minor role with whatever the SPA is. Will Trini’s daughter Minh transform? My guess is probably and I wouldn’t be surprised if she becomes a leader for the next generation. I’m sure most of these questions will go unanswered as they probably seem pretty corny production-wise and that’s honestly fine.
[The Rangers come] face to face with a familiar threat from the past. In the midst of a global crisis, they are called upon once again to be the heroes the world needs. Inspired by the franchise’s legendary mantra “Once a Ranger, Always a Ranger”, Once & Always reminds everyone when you become a Ranger, you’re always part of the Ranger family, and you’re always welcome.
Once and always will be available to stream on Netflix starting April 19. The special stars David Yost as Billy Cranston, Catherine Sutherland as Kat Hillard, Johnny Yong Bosch as Adam Park, Karan Ashley as Aisha Campbell, Walter Emmanuel Jones as Zack Taylor, Steve Cardenas like Rocky DeSantos, e Charlie Kersch as Min. Barbara Goodson AND Riccardo Horvitz they’re reprising their roles to voice Rita Repulsa and Alpha 5 respectively. Are you ready to watch the Rangers stop Rita one more time?
