The Australian actor Peter Hardy, known for TV series such as McLeod’s daughtersas well as film and stage musicals died by drowning on Thursday March 16 while on a snorkelling trip off Fremantle’s South Beach in Western Australia. He was 66.
The actor is said to have been pulled from the water unconscious at 10:40 local time on Thursday. Before paramedics arrived at the scene, bystanders tried to revive him, but he could not be saved.

In a Facebook post, Hardy’s brother Michael Hardy wrote: “I am devastated to say my brother Peter Hardy passed away suddenly this morning. This is the only way I can get in touch with his wide circle of loved ones and friends. Rest in peace my beloved brother.”
