It’s already been two sagas and a cinematic universe, and Willem Dafoe’s performance as the Green Goblin remains one of the best Spider-Man villains in his entire history. Now, the actor says he’s willing to bring the iconic villain back to life in a new Spider-Man movie, if things at Sony and Marvel make it possible again.

In a recent interview for Inverse (via The Hollywood Reporter), to promote “Inside”, Willem Dafoe has said he would be willing to return as the Green Goblin: “If everything went well, sure. I mean, it’s a great role. I liked that it’s a double role both times. Twenty years ago, and recently, both times [fueron] Very different experiences, but I enjoyed both.”

The deal between Disney and Sony made possible the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in ‘Spiderman: No Way Home’. But if possible Willem Dafoe wants to return in a new Spider-Man movie, which is not in a cameo: “I will come back if there is something really good. Whether that’s just a cameo or a little tip of the hat, I’m not sure. If it’s something substantial, yes,” she told THR.

Unfortunately there is no information that Sony is planning a new Spiderman movie in which Willem Dafoe can appear. Although there is a trilogy that the company is developing with Tom Holland again as Peter Parker, although everything indicates that it would be in a much more human and street story than the previous installments.

In addition to setting some conditions to return, Willem Dafoe underlines the importance of making his own action scenes: “Doing physical scenes was important for me,” the actor told Jon Watts and Amy Pascal, director of the Spider trilogy -Man with Tom Holland. , and manufacturer Sony, respectively.

There have been many rumors of a fourth Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire “Spiderman” film, though Sony has never spoken out against the rumours. There is also talk of a cameo from Maguire in one of the biggest crossovers cooking within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, where old and new heroes will meet.

It remains to be seen if Sony and Marvel have enough interest in making a new Spiderman movie and bring in Willem Dafoe to bring his iconic character back to life. Although fans also want to see him as the Joker, a role he himself has mocked on several occasions.
