During her press tour for Scream VI, Jenna Ortega she didn’t hold back from sharing her feelings about her experiences during the production of Wednesday. One of the wildest admissions he made was when he said he started changing lines in the script without telling the writers. She even told herself that she bordered on unprofessional behavior. Mark Hamill and his Return of the Jedi helix lightsaber reunite in Pop Culture Quest Clip
“I don’t think I’ve ever had to put my feet on the ground more on a set like I had to on Wednesday. Everything Wednesday does, everything I had to play, didn’t make any sense to her character. Her being in a love triangle? It didn’t make sense. There was a joke about a dress she has to wear to a school dance and she goes, “Oh my god, I love it.” Ugh, I can’t believe I said that. I literally hate myself.’ I had to say “No”. There were moments on that set where I became almost unprofessional in the sense that I just started to switch lines. The script supervisor thought I was going with something and then I had to sit down with the writers, and they’d be like, ‘Wait, what happened to the scene?’ And I should go explain why I couldn’t go and do certain things.
Well, he definitely struck a few people with his remarks and one of those people included the writer, producer and showrunner Steven DeKnightwho has worked on projects such as Reckless, SmallvilleAND Spartacus. went so far as to call his behavior toxic in a series of tweets.
When asked if Ortega’s comments were simply a “misunderstanding,” DeKnight replied that he was “doubtful since he’s clearly been shitting publicly on the showrunners/writers.” He continued to expand his thoughts of him, saying:
“She’s young, so maybe she doesn’t know any better (but she should). She should also wonder how she would feel if the showrunners gave an interview and talked about how difficult it was and refused to execute on the material. This type of claim is beyond law and toxic. I love his work, but life is too short to deal with people like this in business.”
So, I guess that means DeKnight won’t be working with Jenna Ortega anytime soon! What do you think of these observations from Ortega and DeKnight?
Doubtful since he’s clearly been shitting publicly on the showrunners/writers. https://t.co/3gtB0pOIEl
