One thing that many fans talked about with the trailer was the animation style of the film, with many people comparing it to the street-art style animation of the film. Spider-Verse movie. Now, the film’s visual development artist, Kellan Jett, is speak about the style and also wants to credit another animated film for the style… The Mitchells versus the machines.
This makes sense like Mutant chaos was directed by Jeff Rowwhich he also co-directed The Mitchells versus the machines. In a series of tweets, Jett wrote that Spider-Verse “is beautiful and has opened the door for us to try something new,” but added that the animation of Mutant chaos is more influenced by The Mitchells versus the machines.
He said, “People keep saying our TMNT movie looks like Spider-Verse which I get, it’s an easy reference point for people. But for people who don’t know, there’s like 8 people on the art team at Turtles who have worked on one or both Spiderverse films.” He went on to add that “an even greater percentage of us worked on Mitchells vs the Machines, which I’d say is a better reference than [Spidey].”
In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Chaos, after years sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as ordinary teenagers through heroic deeds. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in the way when an army of mutants is unleashed against them.
The voice cast of the film includes Micah Abbey like Donatello, Shamon Brown Jr. like michelangelo, Nicola Cantu like Leonardo, Brady Noon like Raphael, Jackie Chan like Splinter, John Cena as Rocksteady, Seth Rogen like be-bop, Ice cube like Superfly, Rosa Byrne as Leatherhead, Natasia Demetrius as Wingnut, Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil, Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman, Post Malone as Ray Fillet, Paul Rudd such as Mondo Gecko, e Maya Rodolfo as Cynthia Utrom.
The film will hit theaters on August 4, 2023.
