We can’t wait to share the film with audiences.”

The film also stars Jordana Brewster, Robbie Amell and Alicia Sanz. This is the synopsis:

“With androids (SIMS) and humans coexisting, it centers on Faye (Brewster) who has already pulled the plug on her late husband, now failing to do the same with Evan (Amell), her android counterpart. Instead of turning Evan off, Faye has him illegally living on his own. While there he meets Casey (Liu), a brilliant programmer who helps him become more human in order to win Faye back. Unbeknownst to Evan, his new friend is wanted for questioning by a determined AICE (Artificial Intelligence Compliance Enforcement) agent (Worthington). Evan must win Faye’s heart before they get caught and he loses everything.

The director said in a statement: “In a very real near future, where technological advances force us to come to grips with our conceptual limitations around life, death and consciousness, how can we humans push ourselves into the next phase of evolution?”

Sounds like a decent sci-fi movie that might be worth checking out! Vertical will be released Simulant in select US theaters and on VOD June 2, 2023.
