The second episode of The Mandalorian Season 3 was quite an exciting adventure! Din Djarin (Peter Pascal) and Grogu travel to Mandalore to bathe in the Living Waters in the mines of Mandalore to be forgiven of his transgressions. I have to say it was amazing to see the mines in Mandalore as the mines in Moria looked like from The Lord of the Rings.

If you haven’t seen the episode yet, go back if you don’t want something ruined.

Din Djarin arrives at the Living Waters at last after facing some dangerous creatures. Mando he sure got into some tough situations and one of them saw him trapped in a cage! So, Grogu had to run away and get help from Bo-Katan (Katee Sackoff).

While Mando is walking in the water taking his Mandalorian oath, he suddenly descends into the abyss and sinks to the bottom of the water. Then, Bo-Katan is again to the rescue and dives in to save him. This is where things take a very interesting turn.

While ascending with Mando, he sees something he didn’t expect, a giant mythological creature known as a Mythosaurus.

Mythosaurs are dragon-like creatures said to be tamed and ridden by Mandalore the Great and the ancient Mandalorians. They are a symbol of strength and power to the Mandalorian people, but were believed to have become extinct long before the Mandalorian cataclysm. According to legend, Mandalore the Great tamed a mythosaur, which had a lair in the mines of Mandalore, where the Mandalorians mined their precious beskar. The Mythosaur skull is a symbol that Mandalorian warriors like Boba Fett wore on their armor.

It was really cool to see that a Mythosaurus survived and I have no doubt it will play a part in the story as it continues. Will we see the Mando or the Bo-Katan taming and riding the giant beast!?

Mythosaurus was previously mentioned by The Armorer in Boba Fett’s book when he told Din Djarin that the rise of a mythosaur would herald a “new age of Mandalore”. Well, looks like the time has finally come.
