The first news we learn is that the Star Wars film developed by the head of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige it doesn’t go any further. It is not in active development at Lucasfilm.

This is a shame to learn as it is one of many Star Wars announced projects that fans have been looking forward to, especially since Feige is so big Star Wars fan. She previously explained that her love for her Star Wars was his gateway to Marvel, saying:

“I knew I wanted to work on this type of film [Marvel movies]mainly because of this movie, [Star Wars]. … Was I the kid who kept playing with Star Wars toys maybe a little longer than other kids? So, I was 10 when Jedi came out. I’ve had all of those [toys]. The “Power of the Force” line came out in ’85, so there hadn’t been a Star Wars movie in a couple of years and, as you know, that’s when Kenner stopped making the “Power of the Force” line. the Force”. It was the last line they made.

The film was moving forward in May of 2022 when the screenwriter Michael Waldron (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness) said he has begun work on Feige’s script. “I like having the freedom to do something that’s not necessarily a sequel or anything.” But I guess now we can cross that movie off the list of Star Wars movies we hoped to see.

Then there’s the Star Wars movie that Taika Waititi is in development, and if it actually happens, it will be the first film to be developed since then Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker It was released. The report reveals that Waititi will also be cast in the film, which I guess isn’t surprising given that he’s appeared in nearly every film he’s made.

At one point, I was looking forward to this movie, but then after the mess of Thor: Love and thunder, I’m not so sure. I hope it’s good! I just don’t want to see an overly extravagant person Star Wars movie. In a previous interview, Waititi talked about wanting to do something new and different with the franchise, saying:

“Look, I think the Star Wars universe expands, it needs to expand. I don’t think I’m of any use in the Star Wars universe to make a movie where everyone’s like, “Oh great, well, those are the Millennium Falcon blueprints, ah that’s Chewbacca’s grandma.” It all stands on its own, it’s great, although I’d love to take something new and make some new characters and just expand the world, otherwise it feels like it’s a very small story.

As with other projects, the studio is also said to be engaged in a Star Wars film by the director Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy (Saving Face, A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness, Ms. Marvel) with a script written by Damon Lindelof (Guardians) AND Justin Britt-Gibson (Counterpart).

As for Rian Johnson’S Star Wars trilogy project, it is very clear that Kathleen Kennedy and Lucasfilm still wants him to make his own movies, but it’s just a matter of waiting for his schedule to open again to do it.

Then there was Patti Jenkins’ Rogue squadron film, which is no longer in active development.

Lucasfilm and Disney will begin unveiling all of their big Star Wars movie plans at the Star Wars Celebration convention in London on the weekend of April 7. So, stay tuned for that!
