Disney is producing a new Zorro series for Disney+ and Bryan Cogmannan HBO Max writer game of Thrones, will write and executive produce the series. He will also act as showrunner. It actually looks like it could be a great reimagining of this legendary hero.

The series is described as “a bold reimagining of Disney’s classic series for a modern audience; an epic adventure rooted in California’s rich and diverse history, filled with humor, sinister intrigue, romantic entanglements, and swashbuckling thrills.
The story follows privileged caballero Diego De La Vega who returns to his hometown of El Pueblo de Los Angeles after a family tragedy. There he discovers a culture of corruption and injustice that will lead him to take on the role of masked vigilante Zorro, America’s first true superhero.
I love Zorro! I’ve been a fan since I was a kid, so I’m really excited to see how this pans out. I like what I’ve read about the show so far, so there’s a chance this could turn out to be pretty awesome! That’s what I’m hoping for anyway.
Wilmer Valderrama! is producing the series together with Gary Marsh AND John Gerz. As for Cogman, he’s been working on it for a decade game of Thrones, co-executive producer and writer of 11 episodes. He has won four Emmy Awards, a Hugo Award, a Producer’s Guild of America Award and received seven Writer’s Guild Award nominations. In addition, he is also a consultant producer of Amazon Prime The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and wrote the screenplay for Disney’s upcoming remake of The sword in the Stone.
