Within fiction, few creatures are as fearsome and as great at once as dragons, winged beasts that breathe fire and have served both good and evil. And in fantasy films, dragons of impressive size were given voice and body, thanks to special effects that have remained in the memory of many.
From the oldest practical effects, to the most impressive CGI money they can generate, these fantasy movie dragons they have remained in popular culture for many reasons. And even though there are hundreds of them on screen, one can never deny the presence of one of these winged creatures in any story.
The enchanted city
We’ll start with one of the most mythical anime dragons, talks about Haku from “Spirited Away”. Hayao Miyazaki’s masterpiece follows a girl who, while traveling with her parents, takes a detour, and is sent to a magical world of strange creatures, where they are transformed into pigs, and the little girl will have to do everything possible to get back to the his world. How to train your dragon
DreamWorks’ animated trilogy “How to Train Your Dragon” has some of the the most impressive dragons in cinema. In addition to Toothless, the repertoire of colossal creatures that appear in the three films is noteworthy, some with the most majestic designs ever seen in fantasy. Available on Netflix.

The Neverending Story
One of the fantasy movies with one of the most endearing dragon is ‘The Neverending Story’ which is called Fújur, Atreyu’s mate. While he’s not the most ferocious, his friendly white appearance and large beards make him one of the most beloved in all of fiction. Available on HBO Max and Amazon Prime Video.
hobbits
Giving one of the most endearingly terrifying takes on the genre, we have Smaug from ‘The Hobbit’ trilogy. Benedict Cumberbatch was in charge of bringing to life this evil dragon who has one of the most impressive designs and who has one of the most interesting conversations of the trilogy with Bilbo Baggins. Sleeping Beauty
Finally, one of the dragons that most caused nightmares to all children of the last century is Maleficent in Disney’s “Sleeping Beauty”. It is the moment when the villain of the story transforms into a giant winged creature with the “power of hell”, and who breathes green fire.
