YELLOWJACKETS Showrunner Teases Cannibalism Is ‘Just the Tip of the Iceberg’

With the second season of the hit Showtime series Yellow Jackets coming soon, co-showrunner Jonathan Lisco he’s trying to get the fans pumped for what’s coming.

The dark and twisted series centers on a high school girls’ soccer team who crashes a plane in the woods and is stranded there for 19 months. In an attempt to survive, the girls will end up resorting to cannibalism, but apparently this is only the beginning of what is in store for these characters.

During a recent interview with EWLisco joked:

“If we do our job right, eating a person won’t be the most transgressive thing these young women do in the desert. That’s just the tip of the iceberg.”

He didn’t offer any other details or hints at what it could be, but it sounds like things are going to get pretty messy for these characters. One thing he and fellow showrunners Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson set out to do was make season two even better than season one, and I hope they succeed.

One thing he will do is delve into the trauma of survival in the harsh wilderness. He continued, “If Season 1 was about our teenage characters learning to adapt to their hostile environment, Season 2 is where it really blows up.”

Lisco went on to talk about the characters and tease their journey, saying, “Each of them will make choices they never imagined possible. changed the fate of their lives”.

The series is described as “equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story, and coming-of-age drama.” The story follows “a team of incredibly talented high school soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash in the remote northern wilderness. The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans, while also charting the lives they attempted to rebuild nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really the past and what began in the desert is long gone. from the beginning”.

The series is the protagonist Christina Ricci, Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Ella Purnell, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Sammi Hanratty, Steven Krueger, Warren KoleAND Juliet Lewis. Newcomers include Elijah WoodAS Walter “a new citizen detective”, Lauren Ambrose like the adult version of Van, whose photos you can see here, and Simone Kesselwho will play an adult Lottie. Jason Ritter he too joined the cast.
