EXCLUSIVE: Oscar nominee Jackie Earle Haley (Small children) and long The living dead Actor Ross Marquand has signed on to star alongside Daniel Roebuck (Rob Zombie’s). The Munsters) in crime flu tuesdaydirected by Roebuck from a screenplay by brothers Stephen and Brian Parri.
“Tuesday flu” is the term used by bookies when players conveniently disappear after the weekend’s losses. The film, which goes into production on the East Coast next month, tells the story of Jason McCutchen (Marquand), a compulsive gambler who finds himself deeply in debt with an unsympathetic bookkeeper. Lester Smalls (Haley) offers him a way out – a last chance – with the downside that Jason could lose his son if he gambles. Drewlin Productions produces in association with CMN, LLC and Magic Bean Entertainment.
Haley received his Oscar nomination for his supporting role tar Helmer Todd Field’s 2006 romance drama Small childrenand is otherwise best known for his role as Freddy Krueger in the 2010s A Nightmare on Elm Streetand as Rorschach in Zack Snyders Guardian. The actor stars alongside Billy Bob Thornton in the recently released crime thriller Devil’s spike and also recently lent his voice to the Netflix animated film, My father’s dragon. Other notable credits are the movies Alita: Battle Angel, London has fallen, Lincoln, dark shadows And Shutter Islandas well as series such as The First Lady, the tick And preacher. Haley will also soon star in the Netflix action thriller The Union (w/t) – previously titled Our man from Jersey – as well as the action comedy The retirement plan with Nicholas Cage.
Marquand is best known for appearing on seven seasons of AMC’s as Walker apocalypse survivor Aaron The living dead. He has also lent his voice to such serials Invincible, Beavis and Butthead, robot chicken, American Dad! And family man, to name a few. He was also seen in the avenger movies Infinity War And endgamealong with other big screen titles.
Roebuck recently starred in Rob Zombie’s film The Munsters and has also acted in films including John dies at the endyears 2007 Halloween and that from 2009 Halloween II, little red riding hood And The rejection of the devil, among many others. He is better known for his work on the TV side and has appeared in notable series such as The man in the fortress And Lostand previously wrote, directed, produced and starred in the 2017 drama, received grace.
