Years took that away, but for a long time Hugh Jackman was the actor with the record for playing the same character for the longest time. This has brought many advantages in his career, but also some consequences, like the one he just confirmed, since he claims that bringing Wolverine to life damaged his vocal cords permanently.

In an interview for Front Row, the BBC Radio 4 show (via Deadline), Hugh Jackman has revealed that playing Wolverine has damaged his voice: “My teacher in drama school would have been horrified by some of the things I did in Wolverine. I damaged my voice playing Wolverine,” said the ‘Logan’ star, who will return in ‘Deadpool 3.’

The actor mentions it Wolverine’s growls affected his voicethat would have gone unnoticed, but Hugh Jackman working in theater and in several musical works, his performance has not been the same over the years: “My falsetto is not as strong as it used to be, and I attribute this directly to some of the i growls and screams that I made”.

Many would think the challenge of playing Logan for 15+ years would be keeping fit over the years, but for Hugh Jackman playing Wolverine influenced his career in several ways, including the fact that she pushed herself too hard for the role, and now her voice is recent too. And for example, “Les Miserables” or “The Greatest Showman” were the musicals where her vocal ability was affected.

Following deals between Disney and Fox over the rights to X-Men, Deadpool and Fantastic Four, Ryan Reynolds’ third film as the Merc with a Mouth will now belong to the MCU and, with it, Hugh Jackman will once again return. Wolverine, and for this he has already begun to prepare both physically and mentally for the role.

And to put himself back in Logan’s shoes, Hugh Jackman is taking his participation in ‘Deadpool 3’ very seriously, and revealed to Stephen Colbert what his current diet is, and says he eats over 8000 calories a day, to be able to gain muscle mass: “I’m here, I pay the price for (eating) the baguette and the butter, the tarte tatin and so on.” he mentions between laughter.

“Right now I have about 6,000 calories a day. I think right now I am stacking about 4000-5000 calories in my body. I’m hooked up to a heart rate monitor. I mean, my trainer told me I need to know what I’m working on because I’m trying to gain mass,” concluded Hugh Jackman.
