The new rumors ensure that Werner Herzog, the acclaimed director and documentary filmmaker, would be in talks to direct the new series at the studio.
According to famous insider Daniel Ritchman (via CBR) assures it Werner Herzog would be in talks with Marvel Studios direct a new series. The director has made a name for himself in the history of cinema with works such as ‘Family Romance, LLC’, ‘Nomad: In the footsteps of Bruce Chatwin’, ‘Haca el infierno’, ‘The Wild Blue Yonder’, and in 2019 he appeared as a Client in “The Mandalorian” for Disney+.
According to the report, Werner Herzog would direct ‘wonder man’, the new Marvel Studios series they’ve had in development for the past few weeks and which follows ‘Simon Williams as he goes from being a Hollywood actor to a superhero after gaining sudden powers and being thrust into the world of Superheroes’ .
Herzog has collaborated in recent years with The Walt Disney Company, which it would now not be surprising to move to Marvel Studios, but as a director of one of their new series for UCM. At the moment, the “Wonder Man” series has not been confirmed by Marvel, it is only known that it is being put into development. Destin Daniel Cretton, director of ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the 10 Rings’ would take care of this new series for Disney+, based on the character born in the 60s, in response to the huge success of Wonder Woman in DC Comics.
Late last year, Deadline confirmed that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who recently starred in “The Matrix: Resurrections,” would be tasked with bringing Wonder Man, one of Marvel Studios’ most powerful superheroes, to life. Therefore, Werner Herzog’s participation in the series is not known how he would be involved.
