Since the birth of cinema, one of the oldest and most fascinating genres is science fiction, a field that has allowed filmmakers and creators to explore the limits of the universe, fantasize about impossible adventures and imagine worlds similar to ours. That’s why, within such a huge space, these are the sci-fi series you need to see to be a fan.

Just like in the movies, they are there science fiction series that every fan should know, and at least give it a chance once in a lifetime. And best of all, you can each watch them on different streaming platforms, although yes, they’re subject to availability in each territory, so if you don’t see them on your service, it’s probably on some other.

Sense 8

Let’s start slowly, with one of most captivating sci-fi series For those who have been able to experience it live. This is ‘Sense 8’, a program by the Wachowski sisters, where 8 people with telepathic abilities are explored, with whom they can share their experiences, and help each other before being exterminated. Altered carbon

If you liked ‘Blade Runner’, you should see ‘Altered Carbon’, one of the best sci-fi series with cyberpunk aesthetics. The man in the high castle

Produced by Ridley Scott, and based on the homonymous novel by Phillip K. Dick, we have ‘The Man in the High Castle’, one of the best science fiction series of recent years. The story stars Rufus Sewell, Luke Kleintank, Alexa Dávalos, among others. The story is set in a United States divided into two, one side by the Japanese and the other by the Nazis, where he reflects on what would have happened if the allies had lost World War II. Available on Amazon Prime Video.

Star Trek: Picard

Now we close with the classics, equivalent to what ‘Star Wars’ is for films of the genre. This is ‘Star Trek: Picard’, which is just one of the sagas within this program that has had to be revamped over the years. Babylon 5

Luckily for some, the recent arrival of this iconic sci-fi television series on HBO Max was J. Michael Straczynski’s first introduction to this franchise. The story follows a space station tasked with ensuring the coexistence of beings from different worlds, after a terrible war has wiped out a large part of the population.
