Pedro Pascal lives one of the best moments of his career. The acclaimed series ‘The Last of Us’ is in full air, in which he stars alongside Bella Ramsey, and On March 1, the third season of one of the most beloved Star Wars projects of recent years, “The Mandalorian”, will premiere on Disney+. While we don’t see him often, as the character barely shows his face, Pascal is the actor under the armor who gives life and voice to Mando, the protagonist.

Fame goes hand in hand with weird situations, and now that he’s enjoying one of his best working moments, Pascal wasn’t going to get rid of it. In an interview on The Graham Norton Show (via HuffPost UK), the actor shared what he considers one of the strangest requests fans make of him: “People come up to me and ask me to voice [de ‘The Mandalorian’] for your children. But I think it sounds inappropriate because it’s an intense “bedroom” voice from the low register. It’s creepy and doesn’t look good in real life.”
Those people who watched “The Mandalorian” in the original version certainly understand what Pascal is referring to. His character speaks slowly, with long pauses and quite pronounced breathing, what could be considered a rather seductive voice, for this Pascal calls it “bedroom”. It stands to reason that the actor doesn’t feel comfortable talking to boys and girls like that.
The man under the armour
At the end of the first season of ‘The Mandalorian’ it was revealed that the face under the helmet of the protagonist is that of Pedro Pascal, but this is not always the case. Mando spends most of his time without showing his face, so the show’s production team can afford to use doubles more frequently and easily than on most projects. However, Pascal has been wearing the suit long enough to explain that it’s not exactly comfortable: “It’s like wearing a weighted glove from head to toe. It’s ironic that you can’t see any facial expressions because it completely immerses you in the world and instantly makes the character seem real, but you can’t see shit!”says Pascal in an interview with Empire. The actor also reveals that over time they have become concerned that the suit will be of better quality, but that he still has his downsides to him: “They kept making it better and more comfortable, but it’s like going blind. Your breath completely blurs the narrow slit through which you can see. There is no peripheral vision. If there’s a hole, I’ll fall in.”
Season 3 of ‘The Mandalorian’ premieres March 1 on Disney+.
