Warner Bros. held test screenings for its upcoming Aquaman sequel, Aquaman and the lost kingdom, and word is spreading that the film is terrible. I hate to hear this news, not because I like Aquaman, but because I like its director James Wan. He’s a great director, so it sucks to know that his second Aquaman movie won’t be as good either.
Big Screen Leaks and entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider confirmed an initial report that suggested Aquaman and the lost kingdom it held half a dozen test screenings, all with dismal results.
According to the report, the studio is purposely avoiding answering questions about the film because “test screenings for this film haven’t been good,” also stating that it has heard “something that almost never happens in test screenings has happened with this film”.
Sneider followed up those comments by saying the movie is so bad, that’s why Jason Momo wants to jump into a Lobe movie.
Maybe Warner Bros. and James Wan will be able to fix that and turn it into a not-so-terrible movie. If this movie ends up being as bad as it’s reported to be, I’m guessing James Gunn and Peter Safran will eventually reboot Aquaman at some point down the line.
There’s a reason I avoided any questions about AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM, but ever since @ViewerAnon put that out there, it brings me no joy to stand by it and tell you that the test screenings for this movie weren’t good. Really hoping Wan fixes this movie before December.
