R. Kelly faced allegations of teen sexual abuse for decades before being brought to justice. He illegally married singer Aaliyah when he was a minor in 1994. In 2002, he was charged with 21 counts of making child sexual abuse material, but the 2008 trial resulted in Kelly being acquitted by a jury on all counts. fronts.

Despite this, the allegations continued to haunt him. He was the subject of the 2019 documentary “Surviving R. Kelly” and was subsequently indicted on multiple charges in upstate New York.
