Godzilla: Tokyo SOS will make its US stage debut this year in celebration of its 20th anniversary. This is made possible by the collaboration between Toho International and Fathom Events for a single day event. On March 22, the film will be shown in over 600 theaters in the United States with subtitles and bonus content. That bonus content includes a special screening of Godzilla vs Gigan Rex. Sounds like a really fun moment. Tickets are now available through Fathom Events and participating box offices.

In Godzilla: Tokyo SOS, the twin fairies of Mothra appear with a warning to Japan that Kiryu (aka Mechagodzilla) must be laid to rest at the bottom of the ocean or face Mothra’s wrath. When Godzilla returns once more, will humanity heed the warning or will Kiryu be forced to battle two monsters?
In addition, Toho International has announced that there will be a lot of merchandise released for the anniversary of Godzilla: Tokyo SOS. This includes a Tamashii Nations Type 3 Kiryu figure now available for pre-order from Amazon, new Super7 figures, and more.
Speaking of the anniversary, Kristin Parcel from Toho International said:
It has been 20 years since the debut of Godzilla: Tokyo SOS and we can’t wait to celebrate this pivotal moment for the franchise in collaboration with Fathom Events. Fans will have the opportunity to experience this iconic film on the big screen for the first time in the United States. To complete the experience, viewers will also have the opportunity to indulge their fandom beyond the screen with our robust line-up of Godzilla: Tokyo SOS merchandise.
