Despite the fact that the hit TV series ‘friends’ featuring 6 protagonists from the first to the last season, the story has found a way to include paul rudd in the final scenes, something that for the actor who brings Ant-Man to life was quite a surreal experience and he even felt uneasy as if it didn’t completely belong to him.
Within the career of Paul Rudd, not only his participation in the Marvel Cinematic Universe stands out, but also a long list of films and series in which he was part of the main cast, and one of the oldest is the sitcom “Friends” at the alongside Matt LeBlanc , Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox and Matthew Perry.
In an interview for heart radio, Paul Rudd Reveals He Never Imagined Being A Part Of ‘Friends’ When He Was Recently Offered The Role Of Mike Flanaganand like his character on the series, it was a coincidence that he ended up being a big part of the friends’ lives over the past few seasons, but never felt like a part of them.
I never knew there would be so many [episodios] how was I. But it also seemed strange. I was in the last episode and I was like, ‘I shouldn’t be here,'” confessed Paul Rudd.

As if that weren’t enough, the actor confesses that in the final chapter “Everyone was crying, everything was emotional, and I was like, ‘Wow!'”, clarifying that it was an uncomfortable and surreal experience for him since it seemed out of place in view of Mike Flanagan was not part of the series since the first season as was the case with Monica, Rachel, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Ross.
It was a lot of fun and they were great! It was all a bit surreal, I have to say, to be a part of it, because I’ve really come to the end,” the actor explained.
Paul Rudd was a part of the last few seasons of ‘Friends’ as Phoebe Buffay’s boyfriend and eventually husband, and though he was introduced as a supporting character, Mike Flanagan ended up being one of the leads in the story and gave her an comedic and funny twist to the story, so many fans were disappointed when he didn’t show up for the HBO Max reunion in 2022.
Paul Rudd has a future at Marvel
Far from leaving behind his work with Marvel Studios’Friends’ star Paul Rudd continues to be a part of the MCU multiverse saga and recently kicked off Phase 5 of superhero movies and series with the premiere of ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania’ which was a great success at the box office even if not so much among the critics.
It’s currently unclear if Paul Rudd will be in another Marvel film or series, however it is expected that in the future Scott Lang aka Ant-Man be someone important among the Avengers, as in ‘Avengers: Endgame’ which could confirm the return of the actor in a new story to help save the whole world.
