It turns out that Sylvester Stallone he had plans for a seventh Rocky film that never came to fruition, and the actor recently shared his ideas for that film in a now-deleted Instagram post. He shared some photos, which I’ve included below showing John Rivoli’s artwork of Rocky wearing his signature fedora, along with some notes that he had jotted down.

He said: “This was the beginning of the ROCKY 7 script, unfortunately because [of] some individuals, it’s never going to happen, but it’s something I want to share with diehard fans. Always keep hitting. Painting by [John Rivoli]. #Irwinsfault,” Stallone captioned the images, referring to Rocky and Creed producer Irwin Winkler
In another, Stallone added, “I know the second half is confusing, but I think you get the idea. Rocky is back to trying to fight for the neighborhood that made him and that he still loves.”
It is explained that Rocky runs Adrian’s Restaurant, a joint he opened after his wife’s death. In the scene, he plays a vinyl record and imagines he’s having a conversation with Adrian. The extract reads:
int. Adrian’s Restaurant – Night
The windows are dark except for the faint glow emanating from inside the building.
The streets are deserted and the composition is rather gloomy…
Hadrian’s Int
Rocky, half-shadowed behind the bar, puts a record on an antique record player, then lowers the stylus and operatic music rises from the dated speakers above the bar.
Rocky makes his way to the back of the restaurant as Puccini’s “O mio babbino caro” gently embraces the room.
Rocky walks over to a checkered tablecloth lit by scented candles.
As he approaches, we see the slim silhouette of a woman seated from behind. Rocky comes and slides the other way and…
Rocky: “Do you like this song?”
Adrian’s warm eyes land on Rocky’s.
Adrian: “Yes. Very. My favorite tune.
Rocky (embarrassed): “…I know.”
Stallone shares details about another scene where Rocky goes to a boxing club, where he sees a 27-year-old fighter called “Chucho the Mutt.” No details were shared about the character, but perhaps it was another student who mentored him.
Stallone wrote: “I know it’s confusing, but I think you get the idea. Rocky is back trying to fight for the neighborhood that he created and that he still loves.
Would you like to see Stallone get to do his Rocky 7 movie?
