I remember talking about this Avatars sequel years ago that James Cameron it was still in development and wondered if there was still a market out there that would be interested in returning to the world of Pandora for another story. Many people didn’t seem to think so Avatar: The Way of Water would see the same kind of box office success as the original film. Well, never bet against James Cameron. The boy just has the magic touch.

Avatar: The Way of Water it is now the third highest-grossing film of all time. Over the weekend, it passed Titanic to take place! It’s pretty amazing! So far, the film has grossed $2,243.2 million globally. Cameron now has three of the four highest-grossing global films of all time with Avatars (#1), Avatar: The Way of Water (#3) and Titanic (#4).
Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri and their children), the troubles that haunt them, how much they do to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to survive and the tragedies they endure.
With that kind of success, you can bet Disney will let James Cameron make all the Avatar movies he wants.
