‘Babylon’ sets debut date on Paramount+ after long theatrical run

The 3x Oscar nominated early Hollywood epic directed by Damien Chazelle Babylon arrives on Paramount+ in the US and Canada on February 21, 61 days after its theatrical release.

The Paramount/C2 film, starring Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Diego Calva and Lukas Haas, will also be released later this year on Paramount+ in the UK, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Latin America, Brazil and South -Korea wise.

Babylon was nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Original Score, Best Production Design, and Best Costume Design.

Inspired by real-life Hollywood actors of the 1920s, the film follows an ambitious cast of characters: the silent film superstar (Pitt), the young starlet (Robbie), the production manager (Calva), the musical sensation (Jovan Adepo), and the alluring Powerhouse artists (Li Jun Li) – striving to keep up with the murky Hollywood scene of the 1920s and maintain their relevance at a time when the industry is moving to second best.

Babylon, Filmed for $80 million in Santa Clarita, California during the pandemic, it was a major awards show for Paramount that sadly fell short: at the film budget level, it would have cost $250 million at the global box office to break even. The photo didn’t just get competition Avatar: the way of water during the Christmas opening weekend, but snowstorms that affected business resulted in a three-day opening of $3.6 million. The film finished with $15.3 million, outperforming $41 million overseas, where these types of writer-driven films work, for a worldwide gross of $56.3 million.
