The future of the new DC Universe is being built on the fly, even if most of the company’s projects have already been announced by James Gunn and Peter Safran. That’s why, to lay the groundwork for the sequel, Robert Pattinson may have a cameo in HBO Max’s spin-off series, ‘The Penguin’, which will directly tie into the beginning of ‘The Batman 2’.

According to Jeff Sneider of The Hot Mic Podcast (via ComicBook), he says so Robert Pattinson would have a cameo ‘The Penguin’. The host claims that the rumor is authentic, although it is unknown at what point in the series for HBO Max it would appear. And is that this spin-off will be supervised by Matt Reeves, so it must be totally consistent with the world that he proposes.

At the moment it is not known if Robert Pattinson will appear as Bruce Wayne or Batman ‘The Penguin’, but her cameo makes perfect sense. Well, it has been confirmed that the story of the series will begin exactly where “The Batman” ended, after the Riddler’s attack on Gotham, which has been flooded, and without the head of the mob. Now all the criminals want Carmine Falcone’s place.

And on the other side, the end of ‘The Penguin’ will end up directly in ‘Batman – Part 2′, so seeing Robert Pattinson would leave everything set for Matt Reeves’ sequel to begin. As for the second part of the film, nothing is known at the moment, only that its release date is scheduled for the year 2025, but no one, apart from Pattinson, is confirmed to return.

‘The Penguin’, the bridge between ‘The Batman’ and the sequel

At the moment, three spin-offs from the Matt Reeves universe are confirmed, ‘Arkham Asylum’, ‘Gotham PD’ and ‘The Penguin’. The latter is the first to arrive on HBO Max, will be played by Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti, who will give life to the daughter of Carmine Falcone, and who also wants the role that the father has left absent, but which will be Oswald Cobblepot to claim with all his strength.

Directed by Lauren LeFranc and Craig Zobel, and plot-wise, Gotham is left with no head leading the city’s criminal underworld after Falcone’s death. Now, all the underworld pimps will try to reclaim the job, but only Cobblepot and Carmine’s daughter will be the only ones to truly show what they’re capable of to take the throne.

Currently, the recordings of ‘The Penguin’ are about to begin, and the release date of the series was supposed to be revealed with the plans of DC Studios, but it didn’t happen. Even so, this spinoff could arrive at the end of this 2023, or if things are delayed, it would arrive at the beginning of next year 2024.
