Patrick Stewart Teases Possible Professor X-Magneto Reunion Saying He and Ian McKellan Have ‘Plans’

Patrick Stewart continue teasing his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Professor X! The actor was previously asked if he would return for a Marvel adventure in Deadpool 3and revealed that he was “told to hang on. I don’t know more, honest.”

Now, the actor is hinting that his Charles Xavier may actually be reuniting Sir Ian McKellenit’s Magneto! It would be huge if it actually happened! The last time they appeared together in a Marvel movie was in the 2014 film X-Men: Days of Future Past.

During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor was asked about the possibility of playing Xavier again and he said, “I can’t say what Charles’ future might hold.”

He went on to talk about how McKellan got a favorable response to his appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It is at this point that he teased Professor X and Magneto’s reunion:

“Actually, it went really well. He said something like this [‘Hey, I would’ve done this!’]Yes, that’s true, but we’re not done, Sir Ian and I. We…we have plans.”

So maybe both Stewart and McKellan have been told by Marvel Studios to stand by and watch?! I have no idea, but Stewart seems to think something might be up with the two of them in the MCU. We’ll just have to wait and see! It would sure be great to see them together again as these characters, though.

I can’t help but wonder what’s been going through Kevin Feige’s mind as Stewart continues to talk about his potential return as Professor X.
