Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania is revving up to launch Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and, according to the man behind the magic, the head of Marvel Studios Kevin Feigethis next stage is to connect the “very, very big picture” of The Multiverse Saga in a “very, very big way”.

During the world premiere of Ant-Man and the Wasp: QuantummaniaFeige shared his thoughts on the MCU’s Phase 4 at Marvel.com. Feige said the Marvel Studios team wanted The Infinity Saga to feel like a complete work of art afterwards Avengers: Finale AND Spider-Man: Far From Home, then they did Phase 4 which was all about “experiment, introduce and reintroduce”. He explained:

“We wanted the Infinity Saga to be complete after Endgame and Far From Home. But Phase 4, as I said, was about experimentation and introduction and reintroduction. And we took our time to have fun, and play in genres that we’ve never played in before, and do all sorts of fun things with these characters.

But what does the future hold for Phase 5, you ask? While there will still be some indie films, experimentations, and fun for the genre, Feige also said that it’s all building into one huge master plan… the Multiverse. He explained

“By kicking off Phase 5, we will continue like this. As in the Infinity Saga, there will be independent films in the next two phases. But it really is, as you will surely see in Quantummania, heading into the very, very big picture. And as we’ve already announced, that big picture is the saga of the multiverse in a very, very big way.

Phase 5 will be a bonanza of blockbuster superheroes, with six movies included Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The wonders, Captain America: New World Order, LightningAND Lamaand seven television series including What if…? season 2, Secret invasion, Loki season 2, Iron heart, Echo, Agatha: Coven of ChaosAND Daredevil: Born Again. That’s a total of 13 projects!

If all goes to plan, Phase 5 will reach its epic conclusion in mid-2024, and the merc with the mouth, Dead Pool, will be waiting in the wings to launch Phase 6 of the MCU! Get ready for a wild ride!
