The lucky dead Volume 1 will be out in March and I’m very excited. I haven’t been able to read the comics yet because life has been so busy, but I’ve wanted to read these stories in the Massive-Verse since day one! Well, to celebrate the upcoming release, Image Comics have teamed up with dark wave band AL1CE to create a really cool music video/trailer where you’ll see a mix of the band performing and comic panels showcasing the amazing art. The lucky dead is written by Melissa Flores (Powerful Morphin Power Rangers) with art of French Charlemagne (Radiant black) with the first volume collecting numbers 1-6.

The Lucky Dead, Vol. 1 is set in a San Francisco in transformation and centers on the MORROW technology consortium. MORROW is buying land – their peacemaking robots loom on every corner – and where there’s no Morrow, there are the local gangs.
Bibiana Lopez-Yang is also changing. The accident in Afghanistan that killed her platoon left her with the unique power to control electricity, but she is haunted by the ghosts of those she has lost. With some unlikely friends, she Bibi may have a chance to save her city. But against such a powerful enemy, it won’t be enough to be good. She will have to be lucky.
Speaking of the comic, Tash Cox by AL1CE said:
The Dead Lucky is an inspiring and deeply moving story from our truly gifted friend, Melissa Flores. My favorite stories are the ones that leave specific imprints on your heart, and we all felt those tugs in ours when we dived into The Dead Lucky universe through Bibiana’s eyes. Our intention in creating the music is to weave similar feelings to those we had while reading Melissa’s powerful story. We are so honored and grateful for the opportunity of this beautiful partnership.
Flores also shared some thoughts on collaborating with AL1CE to create the song and video:
When I decided to collaborate with an artist to create the theme song for The Dead Lucky, I honestly only had one choice in mind: AL1CE, which I’ve been a fan of for years. I’m so amazed and thankful they said yes! AL1CE wrote and performed a captivating and haunting song that perfectly sums up the complex emotion behind this book. And it’s an absolute bop! I can’t wait for the fans to love it as much as I do.
you can read The lucky dead Volume 1 on March 22 at your local comic store and March 28 at your local bookstore or anywhere else you want to buy comics.
