After months of waiting, now ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’ is finally released in several select regions. One of the lucky ones was Mexico, which had its own exclusive launch, and which has already proven to be worth it, since its box office receipts have recouped, and by far, the $100,000 dollars it had as a budget.

According to information from The Hollywood Reporter, ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’ has surpassed the million dollar mark, only in Mexican territory. It should be remembered that the premiere was only on January 26, and is currently still in theaters. While, in other territories such as the United States, Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s film will be released on February 15th.

With a limited release, ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’ It was a hit in MexicoTherefore, if in the other territories where the killer bear horror film is released, the wait is at least half as high as here, it could be the next new horror saga, just as happened with the launch of ‘Terrifier 2 ‘, another production which cost much less than his collection.

Of course, it gave the vast majority of the public and the specialized press negative reviews of ‘Winnie the Pooh: honey and blood’, because his story falters on several key points. Either way, the box office numbers were enough for the production company behind Bloody Disgusting and its director, Rhys Frake-Waterfield, to begin work on a future sequel.

It is worth mentioning that the original rights to Winnie the Pooh did not become public knowledge in Europe, which is why ‘Honey and Blood’ was not released in those territories, despite being a British production. But other than that, the Mexican box office success was enough to confirm that there will be a second part of ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’.

And not only that, because the director, in addition to already working on ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2’, also wants to make other adaptations of children’s characters to horror films, starting with ‘Bambi: The Reckoning’ and following from ‘ Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare’, two Disney icons who are also about to lose their rights.

And to put the icing on the cake, Waterfield also wants to do the same with Thor, transforming the Norse god into a sort of mythological assassin. But until we know more about these productions, we will have to wait a bit to find out what the total collection of “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” will be in Mexico.
