Sideshow has a new unboxing video to share, this time an unboxing of the Gandalf the White ⅙ Scale Figure made by Asmus Toys. Gandalf arrives with his trusty Shadowfax steed made of polystone with rooted hair. The resemblance to SIR Ian McKellan he is amazing with lifelike beard and hair made from wool and applied by hand. Tailored fabric outfit includes a patterned waistcoat, flowing long sleeved tunic, sword belt, trousers and boots. His Glamdring sword is ready for battle as is his White Mage’s staff. Figure comes with a variety of hands for different posing needs and is displayed on a grass covered display base.

This figure looks phenomenal. When I saw a close up picture I thought I was looking at a portrait of Gandalf. The level of detail is perfect. The only thing that really worries me is that poor horse’s mane. Everything else about Shadowfax looks so lifelike, and then the mane looks so wobbly and nasty. I hope it wasn’t drawn very well for the photos for whatever reason, but it looks that way in the video too, so who knows. The weird thing is that the tail looks great and Gandalf’s hair looks great, so I really have no idea what happened to Shadowfax’s mane.
