Just like A24, Blumhouse is one of the production companies that every horror film they release causes a certain expectation around them. And it is that, unintentionally, they have left behind some classics of the genre, which you can now enjoy on different streaming platforms, to put together a night of horror with your friends or family.

Sequel to one of Blumhouse best horror movies, “Delete friend 2” by Stephen Susco, has been able to exploit all the advantages of the first part, to bring the story to a much more macabre and sinister terrain. On this occasion, some friends are victims of a digital threat, who, if they log off or call the police, will die. Available on YouTube, Amazon Prime Video and Claro.

Secondly, there is one of the best horror films produced by Blumhouse, it’s about “Sinister”. The film is directed by Scott Derrickson and stars Ethan Hawke and James Ransone, and follows a writer of crime novels who goes through a bad time and moves into a house of the victims of a terrible massacre, to find inspiration. Available on Claro, YouTube and Amazon Prime Video.

12 hours to survive

Although few tell them, so is ’12 hours to survive’, the sequel to ‘The Purge’ a horror and suspense film from Blumhouse available for streaming. It is a story directed by James DeMonaco, set during the only night where any kind of crime is allowed, including murder, when a man tries to avenge his dead son. Available on Star+ and Amazon Prime Video.

The present

Starring Joel Edgerton, Jason Bateman and Rebecca Hall in the lead roles, we have ‘The Gift’, a thriller and mystery that follows a couple who have an ideal life, until they move into a new home. Everything changes when they start receiving gifts from an old classmate, who reveals secrets from the past. Available on HBOMax.

The invisible man

From the hand of Blumhouse Productions, the remake of a classic came in 2020 with Leigh Whannel’s ‘The Invisible Man’, starring Elisabeth Moss and Oliver Jackson Cohen. The story follows a scientist who fakes his death and goes invisible to terrorize his partner, who the police don’t believe is in pain. Available on Netflix.

Finally, Blumhouse’s flagship with Jordan Peele’s “elevated terror” in ‘Get out’. An instant classic starring Daniel Kaluuya in which he brings to life a boy who is about to meet his white girl’s parents for the first time, unaware that it’s a meeting to get the best out of him. Available on Star+.
